The Foundation… the canvas to your day


Well, it has been far too long since White Lace Events & Design has written a blog. We have been recently inspired by all the amazing couples coming our way. Some have just secured their venue, while others are still searching for that “oh so perfect” dream wedding venue. It is so important to get this piece just right and it should feel amazing!

The venue is the foundation for the wedding day and it can be looked at as a blank canvas in the beginning. We will help you with the perfect palette and the splashes of amazingness (is that a word…) to make your wedding completely represent you. Don’t forget that a wedding truly should reflect you as a couple—you are why everyone is traveling from afar to celebrate and raise their hands in the air for your lifetime of love and matrimony. Let’s make it picture perfect and absolutely stunning!

As planners, it is so exciting to begin these new adventures and build new relationships with our couples and their families. We will breakdown the best way to select a venue and offer suggestions that you may not have thought of. We ask questions to help understand your wedding day vision and feel. Do you want formal, casual, fun, edgy, rustic, black tie, etc.? What do you want your guests to walk away saying? A wedding in a school or a library … “it was so unique and amazing!” or “it was simply stunning and the food was incredibl-e!” These are just a few of the questions you should be asking yourself as you peruse the venues.

Each couple has a unique journey to selecting their wedding day venue. Some have known about their wedding venue since they were in kindergarten on family vacations, others select a venue that is meaningful to them as a couple and others have never thought about it. When searching there are some things that you may want to think about:

  1. Location
  2. Budget
  3. What does the venue offer? (all rentals, just the space, rooms for guests to stay, etc.)

If it is a destination wedding, are there enough local accommodations at different price points? Do you need to consider transportation for your guests? How many days do you want the celebration to last for (welcome reception, rehearsal, wedding day and farewell brunch?)

We know…so many things to think about. The great thing is that we are here to help you breakdown each step. We can offer suggestions for specific venues and put you in contact with the best of the best within a range of budgets. San Diego has a plethora of beautiful and unique options…there is no better place to start!
